Sorry seems to be the hardest word, but this Daily Dose of English will make it one of the easiest.

The English Social Network is a Facebook-type site that allows English language learners to meet like-minded people and share their thoughts and ideas about English.

Social networks exist to give everyone the chance to participate and share their knowledge and ideas for the benefit of others.

The English Social Network is dedicated to bringing you daily videos giving common expressions in English. It has a lot of dynamic, fast-changing content that will keep you interested and help you to continually develop your English skills.

I encourage students to submit their comments by video, too. This way students can practice their spoken English and make use of the new technology. This is an exciting new way of learning English.

  • Thanks for this clip

I am wondering how far 'sorry' can be acceptable as a synonym of 'pardon' for asking somebody to repeat what has been said?

  • @sal5082003 It's now a perfectly acceptable synonym for "pardon" or "excuse me", though it is more informal.

  • Richard, if you make an appointment and you don't show up, is that a disappointment?

  • @Nyiddle Very witty! If I don't show up, it's a disappointment, yes.

  • Excuse me? :)

  • @PsyDoX2007 Yes, "Excuse me?" is another way of saying "Pardon?" or "Sorry?"

Thanks for watching and for commenting.
