The problem is culture. It doesn't matter how many times some mom tells their son not to be in a gang if their is no alternative to that lifestyle to be found. You can tell a kid "read, stay in school," but a kid is not going to do it if that was not indoctrinated in them from infancy. If the kid never sees his parent pick up a book - let alone show enthusiasm about going to the library, engaging in intelligent conversations, etc. How can you expect a kid to value the same?

Another thing That corrupts Th mind of our youth and Teens is Music!!!
All the trash talk worthless kind of garbage you might here on the radio these days!
I mean I listen to music a lot of different types of music but The music That kids can listen to these days is pure trash!
Let me give you some examples.
1.Kanye West
2.Akon
3.Lil Wayne.
4.Drake
and I dont even remember some of the other names of all the artists!
Don't get me wrong I love Rap and hip hop, Only the original kind.
-
And I don't know how or why but I know everything about whats right and whats wrong. These are the things I would avoid for my Entire life.
1.Drugs
2Violence
3. Tobacco
4. Alcohol
5. Ignorant people
6.Raciest people
And the list goes on!
I feel so Disappointing in many people for many reasons
-
One thing I have to say is Violence Will never ever, EVER be a good thing
-
I'm actually 14 years old, Personally I'm a home body and I love to go on the computer and play video games. I've been playing lots of violent games since I was 5 and amazingly It didn't effect me at all. I'm about half done with 8th grade and I'm so tired of My peers and even older teens, hell even people in there 20's can make really stupid choices all the time! I am really ahead of my age And I love to socialize with older people. I am very deep, serious and spiritual.
Things like this just sicken me to my stomach! Its so sad Many children and youth have so much potential And shit like this happens!

It so wired how kids today lean toward violence. Is it an economic problem or is it T.V, video games, or parents to busy to bond with their kids. Question is what do we or what can we do about it.
Thanks for you comment,

Black leaders are too busy giving each other expensive awards dinners to care about this.
Black "entertainment" and popular culture promotes the sick minds that carried out the attack destroys any sense of morality or values (it's all about women and money in black popular culture).
And government at all levels places so little value on the life of young black males that they don't provide security or protection for those who work hard and follow the rules, like Derron Arnold.

I still believe the power is in the people..the law that stop parents from disciplining kids should never have been passed. Kids have to learn at home and if getting your parents pissed off does not bother you then pissing off the law won't either. So what are we to do .. if the community wants more police protection then they have to put pressure on the community leaders to provide it..

Thanks Kimberly, for your thoughtful reply.
How about this -- currently we consider it "fair" if we spend as much money on the education tof low-income students as we spend on affluent students (in reality we spend even less on low-income students) but really we should spend more because there is generally greater need in terms of mentorship, tutoring services, ect.
Low-income students from distressed communities require more attention which means more govt. spending -- govt. is shirking

Well when it comes to gov support and gov programs. The more gov programs we have more middle income families have to give up to support others. Education starts at home. I do agree that school board state levels should provide the same academics in low poverty areas as the do in middle income areas. school funding is supported by property taxes area that have a lot of apartment building will not have a lot of funds for after school programs..
