@dvbarmby you were luckee. The race were started with SF firing 100% tracer up our jacksees so logs would fit. Then we 'ad run, RUN, to Worthing and back wi' buckets o' sand to sprrred ont' growend before we 'ad t' run, on fingertips thrrrough sand t' get t' log. When race were over, we ad t'eat our boots and socks. Then we ad our thrrroats cut wi' brrroken glass. If yer told kids that t'day, they wouldn't believe yer.
