Scarlett Johansson: A cancer that goes undetected. A sexually transmitted disease left untreated. A woman unable to get the birth control she needs to plan her family and take control of her own destiny. This is the disastrous vision of some leaders in the United States House of Representatives. The house passed a bill to eliminate our country's Family Planning Program and to stop Planned Parenthood Health Centers from receiving any federal money to provide lifesaving, preventative care. That means no money for cervical cancer screenings and breast exams, no money for testing or treatment of STDs, not even testing for HIV. No money for birth control.

Every year, Planned Parenthood provides this essential care to millions of women, men, and teens. For many people, especially those with low incomes, Planned Parenthood is their only source of healthcare. Let your members of Congress know where you stand. @fermionsandbosons I'm sorry, but this comment irks me a bit. As a parent, or any parent, I don't think we should put off our responsibilities of teaching our kids of what's right/wrong about sex as early as possible. I'm not saying that you do/don't do this, bc I have no idea, BUT, as a teen, a PARENT is the first and most important defense to premature sex--ie, instilling morals and ethics and providing good models, not just pointing them to PP bc "they're gonna do it anyway!" Idk, just my 2c.

Planned Parenthood employs qualified physicians that help their patients with what ever their need for being there is. I personally know a woman that went to several specialists that overlooked her condition, until she went to planned parenthood. She was 45, and receiving basic exam not related to pregnancy. The doctor pinpointed her symptoms and she received appropriate surgery and treatment.

Why just hate women? Men suffer from STDs, genital cancers and even breast cancer too. Planned Parenthood helps, or should help men too. I'm a middle aged man, and I got my first condoms from a family planning clinic in the UK, so I support planned parenthood, or family planning as it's called in the UK.
