Galaxy - War (1977)

"Galaxy" was the title track of a 1977 album from American funk band War. Inspired by the movie "Star Wars", the single continued the group's successful 1970s run on the music charts with its exciting mixture of jazz, funk and Latin rhythms. Late in 1977, the band decided to switch labels, moving to MCA Records for "Galaxy". The album sold well, and the disco-tinged title track was a hit on the R&B charts. "Galaxy" proved to be the last time War would hit the Top 40. This channel is dedicated to all the great 'old school' R&B music I grew up with, the stuff that originally made me tap my feet and want to be a DJ. Funk, soul, disco, R&B, dance, hip-hop, pop . . . 60s, 70s, 80s . . . whatever you call it, it's all 'Old School' and it's all here!
