Barney Frank says now that he was never pushing for excessive homeownership, just renting homes, but now he is caught in his lies, as he pushed for home ownership.

In 2005, Frank said that there should be more homeownership and that there was no housing bubble. Now, look at the economy. Because of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac creating a bubble, under Barney Frank's leadership, the economy is in recession.

  • I've been a mortgage loan officer for 25 years and this whole real estate mess can be funneled down to one guy, this flaming asshole. His thought proces is not just people who can hold a job and make their monthly payments on time, not just people can save enough money for a down payment on a home, but Everybody should own a home. Fannie and Freddie were constantly loosening their approval guidelines and the banks were only doing what the govt were allowing and ENCOURAGING us to do.

  • bye bye Frank....total train wreck who weakened America.....no guilt or back bone either to say "I made a mistake"....

  • People can get away with almost anything these days, can't they.. they can say one thing one day, and the complete opposite the next, and still be in the good books of the majority..

  • Good thing he's not running for re-election in 2012 !

He should worry about seeing the inside of a prison Cell !!!

  • Frank = Scumbag!

  • absolute scumbag...now if we could just get rid of Obama for his crimes on the American people

  • Blame for asset bubbles and their eventual collapse goes squarely on those that created it. Barney Frank is complicit as is bill clinton (vision of every american owning a home, tax relief act of 98) jimmy carter (CRA) and both sides of the aisle in congress as well as Alan Greenspan (keeping rates low well after the '03 recovery). Frank has been an utter waste for America (except for the brothel he ran out of his DC apt) and as a Mass resident, so happy to see him no longer representing us

  • @Shoobydoo132 Seems like you think banks self regulate, and mortgage lenders had no incentive to make bad loans. I guess Republicans work harder then the rest of us, it has to be all their blaming games. Hatred and jealousy has got the best of someone.

  • Fox News = Rich people paying Rich people to tell Middle class people to blame Poor people.

"Nobody is right if everybody is wrong". Hate does not originate from above.

  • granted this man should probably go to prison. I think we as a nation should also take some blame on ourselves for the mess we are in. We let this happen. Every day more and more people "wake up" to the realization of whats being done to us, yet we do nothing. I believe its high time some people lost their jobs.

  • Barney Frank needs to make sure he's spit all the jizz out of his mouth before he speaks.

  • Its George W Bushes fault, its George W Bushes fault, its George W Bushes fault, its George W Bushes fault!!!! No its this stupidass/dumbass/smartass Bawny Fwank's fault. What a liar&theif!!! He has no guilt&shame&thinks he has done no wrong This man should go to Levenworth in a 6 by 9 for the rest of his life. If he was in private business this would happen But being high in the government he is walking away "scott free" to live with his partner Jim Ready-oh how sweet, living happily ever-after.
