It is the Murphy-Maguire quarter final match on the Welsh Open (Newport, 2007). Some people say that Maguire made a push shot here, but the referee (Jan Verhaas) didn't call a foul and neither did Maguire. He went on to win the frame and eventually the match.

  • obviously a push shot

  • @2itinter A push shot is when the cue, white and object ball are all in contact at the same time.

  • It doesnt' look like a push, but it does seem like a push based on the way the white traveled.

  • you gotta be blind or know nothing about snooker if you think that is not a push shot!! jan varhass not to call that has gone down in my books, its 100% no doubt clearly a fluke, look how to cueball travels lol , this video is only poster for idiots who like to debate, for a snooker player is soo clear its not worth mentioning again!!

  • @mwashinski a push shot is classed as a double hit

  • It's not a push, although it really looks like one. Imagine the non-object red isn't there, and imagine the speed the ball would travel towards the center pocket? Now imagine if it also near-instantly glances the other red? It will have a lot of momentum still, but it will have straightened up. Not a push.

  • It's not a push shot. It's a double hit.

  • definitely a push. I wonder why referee did not see it, because cueball cannot move forward so intensively without pushing.

  • deffo a push!

  • a push shot..... im sure

such a short distance between the cue ball and red ball for cue to follow through
