  • Is the bassoon Bb like clarinet? Im going to be playing this and band and we do the first 5 notes of Bb scale for a warmup

  • The bassoon is quite different. It uses a double reed and has a different fingering systerm.

  • how do you fix it when your boot cap falls off how do fix it???:)

  • You might try a little bit of masking tape on the inside of the boot cap to keep it smug.

  • Terry I am having my first hour with my bassoon here and in 3 days i have to perform the marriage of figaro (playing 2nd bassoon). Never mind the runs, I find my pitches are always fluctuating very much. are there any ways to solve this?

  • I hope your performance went well. It is difficult to know what the pitch problem is from the email message. One likely source may be that the length of the reed blade is different that what you have used before. Terry

  • Your a very good teacher. This is my first year playing bassoon and i really enjoy it. But i still don't get why you need the whisper key..it sounds just the same without it...(:

  • @Karlita383 it stops you from playing higher octaves, and makes it in tune and sound better

  • if i have played flute clarinet bass clarinet, tuba, french horn, trombone, trumpet and piccolo what would bge easy for me when it comes to the bassoon?

  • okay i really need help! i was put to play the bassoon in the school band but im dont really know much about it. so when i was "taught" to put the bassoon together and apart i didnt know how and i dont ewven know how to take the long joint away from the tener joint im sssooooooo confused

  • @Karlita383 some bassoons don't have whisper keys... but it does sound different it makes a difference when you're playing the really high notes

  • On the third tone hole, i do not have that key already on it but they gave me the extension key with the instrument. how do you put it on?
