What the ancients did for us- Muslim Arabs- Part 3

The early Muslims are credited with inventing distillation and could distil just about anything - from alcohol to perfume. Hygiene is very important in the Muslim world so they invented and manufactured soap - centuries before the West - and hundreds of bathhouses were built throughout Muslim cities. They understood the fundamentals of light and how we see, and gave us the camera obscura. They invented algebra and worked out the angle of the tilt of the earth. They built the first windmill, pioneered the concept of the crank rod, and designed the first ever torpedo. Muslim creativity also led to the invention of a unique instrument called the astrolabe -- it could find the direction of Mecca, tell the time and, with the help of the stars, navigate you across deserts and oceans. But perhaps most important of all they pursued the cause of knowledge, translating and preserving the works of the ancients and building the world's largest libraries -- their 'houses of wisdom'.

@pankajgupta0707 how did surgery existed without the tools, it's a historical fact that Muslim scientist are the first to come up with the tools for surgery, heck even the names of some of the tools are Arabic, trading did exist before Islam, but Islam used trading to spread knowledge, how else do u find Muslim scientists, that came up wit invention in Europe or amazing buildings in India, algebra comes from jaber, the name of who came up with it, and algebra allowed us to come up with computers

again trade and cultural exchange existed without islam...

persia/india/greek/Byzantine empire and all other surrounding civilizations/cultures of Arab were far more superior... there is nothing that Islam did.... not even algebra and certainly not what they learnt from hindus in medicine and surgery...

Persia in 644 is not muslim, western afganistan was first hindu then budhdhist and then grecobudhdhist...

most of what Islam gave to west was thanks to India/greece and to lesser extent thanks to china... they learned and trade everything that originated from these places.... they were traders.. and leter looters.... but the trade itself was taught to them by inidians and ezyptians much before the advent of Islam.... the banias/marwadis/gujjus/sindhis are traders since ever.
