The Cotton Mill Express Rerun 46115 at Lancaster - 13th Feb 2010.wmv

This is a video of the "Cotton Mill Express" on 13th February 2010, which was a re-run after the charter train failed at Preston on 27th January 2010. The train hauled by LMS Royal Scot Class 46115 "Scots Guardsman" seen here arriving and departing Lancaster station. The train running as 1Z28 0812d Lancaster to Manchester Victoria via Brighouse and Copy Pit.

The train ran into bad luck on the Chat Moss line near to Eccles with a expensive failure of the steam locomotive as the driver reported knocking noises from under the loco. What was reported as failed was the middle-big end bearing. WCR 47760 came to rescue and after a temporary repair to the kettle, the class 47 pushed the train to Manchester Victoria were passengers were disembarked.
47760 then dragged the disgraced kettle and train back to Carnforth via Wigan, Blackburn and Hellifield.

Thanks for the comment. It was an expensive failure the loco which repairs are beginning on her this week.
