This was a request about a week ago for a look at the mechlab mech list.
There is nothing exciting here. Just a look at all the available mechs.

  • My biggest gripe with Ghost Bear Legacy from the very first time I played it (bought it a few weeks after it originally came out), to now, is that unlike the original Mechwarrior 2, the required mech size for almost EVERY level was 100 tons.

This meant that about 80% of the mechs that the game came with were completely useless, and if you picked anything less than a 100 ton mech, the missions were near impossible. Kinda got boring always using the big mechs.

  • @milesaway1980 hmm i dunno about that depends. Watch the playthrough that I did. I used a firemoth on hard for most every level. It is not that bad

  • @SirxMMPD I suppose if you're skilled, most anything'll work. :)

I was meaning more so that, in the original, the maximum tonnage varied quiet a bit. Some levels were 55, some 65, some 70, some 80, some 90, some 100, etc. etc. and the adversaries they put in the levels were based off that. In Ghost Bear, it was 100, 100, 100, 100, 100.... (aside from a few I'm probably not remembering), so if you didn't take a 100 mech, you were already starting out at a disadvantage.

  • @milesaway1980 yeah your right

  • BTW how you get the I.S. Mechs In Ghost Bear? When I played I never could get I.S Mechs. Can you use them to play the campaign? Oh Atlas FTW!!!!!

  • @evilperson86u You can't get the IS mechs in the campaigns. You can only play them in the simulator sadly.

  • Stoned Rhino.

  • My reaction to Stone Rhino:

"JESUS CHRIST (that thing is huge)!"

  • @wedgeant86 I always loved how it looked, but even in the original board game Technical Readout that it was first released, it was considered (and designed to be) a long range support mech. Not too great in an up front combat.

Either way, I'd always just reconfigure it myself.

  • A video of a game based on BattleTech, set to music from a game based on Warhammer 40,000. All you need is some soundclips from a Dungeons & Dragons game (Baldur's Gate, maybe), and you'll have the ultimate tabletop inspired game video.

  • stone rhino was the shit. loved ramming mechs with its jump jets.
