Before I found the flow community your tutorials were my learning tool. To visit your videos again and see the growth and beauty you displayed melts me now.

hahaha neon indian, good music, nice flow too

i hope you do know the poi is a tribal dance performed only by female members of a Maori tribe? not a disco dance move, if you so much as drop one its alot of disrespect to the maori people. id like to think australians had some more respect but hey what can you do

i've watched this more than 20 times, you are a huge influence to me. please keep spinning, and if you could i'd appreciate if you watched the Ten Month video i've posted of me spinning. any criticism would be eaten up immediately, i'd love to hear what you have to say
I really enjoy the monochromatic hues the video consists of, but I am curious - is there any particular reason you used no light whatsoever? Fire, glowsticks or the like?

@ZenicZoom Fire and glowsticks are everywhere, I actually kinda liked the silhouette created in this video, and I think the poi are still perfectly visible, as are the body's movements and orientation because it's still light enough to make out my paths.

You have given me a new appreication for poi. I've always thought of it more as an untz untz untz kinda thing and you have proven that is is a beautiful, unique art form....I wanna be just like you when I grow up ! :D

@Lanofaylin Don't get me wrong, I love my doof, but I definitely prefer spinning to music with a bit more of a melody than most dubstep and drumming circles. Lyrics are also preferable, and I like a groovy rhythm. It's funny you should say "beautiful, unique art form" I was just thinking those exact same words this morning, thinking about poi, as I often do.

hey man this is really great, I've been thoroughly enjoying your poi lesson videos, they've been really helpful. But after about the poi lesson 27 video, it seems theres missing of a chunk of videos? I saw theres some more in the 40's later on, I was just wondering if these other ones are out there somewhere?

@jacobpescaia44 Nah, I just got bored of making tutorial videos to be honest, and I went through a few little "crises" in my poi spinning mentality, such as questioning the value of learning from youtube, which I still have qualms about. That being said, I do intend to make more tutorials, I'm just constantly refining my teaching methods, because when I make my next round of tutorial videos, I want them to be so good that I'll never want to re-do them.
