  • Aquaplaning was the precursor to waterskiing and wakeboarding. They had a series of boards fastened together like a small door. It was tied to the back of the boat, and a "bridle" rope came up from the aquaplane for the rider to hold onto. I think some of the folks in this film had "horses" crafted to make them look like they were galloping - a bit different than other reports of aquaplaning that I've seen.
