@Zemplin - Most of the BtRL team left to join Diaspora. Within a few months there were only 2-3 members left on BtRL.

I'm ex-BtRL myself. I designed the tutorial and final mission of the demo.

Can't wait for this to be released. Was waiting, and waiting and waiting for BTRL and that never went beyond the demo. Please let there still be a linux version too.. =)

We're using the same engine as BtRL planned to so unless something goes horribly wrong with the engine team, we'll have a Linux version. And a Mac OS X version too for that matter.

This looks solid, but I'm not gonna lie, Beyond the Red Line looked better.

Given that half the stuff in that video was directly from BtRL I'm not hugely surprised. Diaspora doesn't have access to the BtRL Galactica and that's probably what made you drool the most. But bear in mind that BtRL doesn't have access to anything you've seen in that video any longer either. So while the original BtRL project may have impressed you more, remember that it no longer exists.

Besides, you'll like us more once we do get around to building our own BSG.

Definitely one of the best games using the FSO engine. Its FREDding will surely be great and the graphics are equally impressive.

I could ask to join the team but I have too many WIPs at the moment to be of any substantial use. I hope to have more time in the future, possibly to help the team out with R2. Right now, however, I think I'll be FREDding a Diaspora-based campaign instead.

Good luck with finishing the mod. I love the brand new cockpits of the FPS view. :-) BTW, did any of the modders that worked on BtRL join your team after their original project went on hiatus ?
