WARNER BROS. agreed to finance and release the films if they "updated" them to the 70s.
Hammer was still working on the script when Warner's said, "The script is good...stop working on it. Now, hurry-up and make the movie"!

@burtonrules123 high british taxes and cheap movie deals compelled lee and cushing to make such junk....a lot of their movies were made for about half a million dollars, so you can figure what their salaries were out of that.
