She could say "her family is black and spanish" but she didn't because she does not identify herself as such. Race especially as a person of color is something others determine for you; but cultural identity is much more personal and is determined by your experiences and upbringing. Just like you identify as a black woman NOT because of your skin color but because of your cultural identity-can you give this woman the same benefit?

@TheGreatShazoo straight hair is simply a manageability issue and nothing more. My bangs that I usually have covering half my face are too long and I haven't cut them ;o
-
What I meant was, I looked horrible with straight hair. Like really silly.
-
@TheGreatShazoo you never tried relaxers? I don't know if that would be too rough on jewish hair though. I think you could probably get by wit the iron on high heat or something but I'm not a hair expert so I don't know xD

I have my Jewish curly hair, which I've tried to straighten. It looked horrible, so I won't be doing that again.

@TheGreatShazoo in the skyward sword video, although of course I gotta take it fresh out 'a braids for that result and not brush it or it'll turn into frizz city -_=
-
Oh. What, if I may ask, is your natural hairstyle?
-
@TheGreatShazoo nowadays yes, to give it a break from the iron and all. I only do that braiding and not cornrows because I heard them craps hurt o_o I'm sure they're also harder to take out too <,<
-
Ah, understandable. Glad we could clear that up. lol. Do you do that to your hair often?
a sensable point I see ;o maybe not everything is thinking that but if I hadn't said it before then I'll say it now, I've seen this type 'a thing in my own family mostly on my mom's side where they will awknowlage every side 'a them but the black side and because I'm part haitian there is even more issues dealing wit the color struck.
