A very mellow series of tips!
Learning to use your thumb and get a vibe using bits of D and Dm. Solid techniques to learn, like killing strings when you pick and other grooves.

  • @snookylover

    the syncopation is the secret. the "T" thumb plays on beat... 1 2 3 4... 1 2 3 4 ... and the "i" index and "m" middle fingers play between the beat like... 1 2 & 3 & 4... substituting letters "i" and "m" for fingers looks like 1 2 i 3 m 4.. remember the thumb in onbeat... T T i T m T... hope this helps

  • @mossrun Icannot get the order of strings for the pciking pattern. Is it like 1,3,4,1,5,3,4 ?

    help!!!

  • Wow... I learned so much from this!

  • Tthis is fantastic. I just got into more of a fingerstyle guitar playing. Thank you so much. Hey, is the Delta Blues predominantly all fingerstyle?

  • I hope you read the comments people leave.

Whatever you wanted to be able to say you got out of life, you are doing something pretty special on the tube.

    Thanks man.

  • I think he is using drop D tunning, that is the 6th (bass) string is dropped down from E to D tuning. Rest of the strings in normal tuning.

  • I noticed the same thing.

  • Your lessons are outstanding! Both your playing and teaching are brilliant. Cheers.

  • thanks for lesson sir! i'm a big fan of acoustic guitars, i'm also using a martin hd-28. is that an EC martin your using? anyways keep it up! you rock!!!

  • Loved this series. A great springboard to improvisation. Question - in part one (the beginning)you're holding down the 5th string (and the 3rd string)with left hand but you don't seem to be playing that string with your right hand - the thumb is alternating on the 6th and 4th strings....why hold it down if you're not using it??
