The protected Amazon reserve of Cuyabeno, covering over 6000 sq. km of pristine virgin rainforest, is an extensive network of inter-connected lakes, lagoons and rivers.
The area is home to over 500 Amazon bird species, 15 different species of monkey, a wealth of wildlife (pink freshwater dolphin, anaconda, capybara, caiman, tapir, manatee, piranha, ocelot, toucan, macaw, and much more), and an incredible average of 228 tree species per hectare.
