Test flight of my new Easy Star UAV (slight resemblance to the RQ-11 Raven... except mine has ailerons!). The quality isn't that great, but this is mainly to show a few friends what is going on with the project.
The plane is a Multiplex Easy Star ARF, modified with ailerons which are mixed to act as spoilers/flaps also (they work great). The rudder has also been enlarged for more authority. The motor and ESC are the Grayson Hobby Super Sonic V2 parkjet setup and they're just about perfect for this plane; I'm also using a prototype outrunner mount. Servos are HS-55's on the ailerons and Turnigy 1160 (I think) on the elevator and rudder.
The camera, transmitter, and receiver are a combo setup from Rangevideo; camera is a KX191 and the transmitter is a 500mw 900mhz. Dual output receiver for when I'm recording.
Batteries are a Zippy 2200mah 3S lipo for flight power, and an XPower 730mah 3S powering the camera and transmitter. The camera is mounted on the left side of the aircraft with the stock metal mount, attached to a square of 1/16 plywood. Seems to work perfectly.
I'm running 72mhz right now but there's a chance I'll change to 2.4ghz. The plane is built for practical use in Airsoft events for observation and reconnaissance.
Future videos should have better quality!
Hmm i know this may be old.. but there probably has to be a way to put it in auto-pilot. like so you can adjust the camera to have like hot view...

@ScoutSniper127 There is, but it's a little expensive and more complicated. I was under a time crunch to get this one ready for an event, so I had to keep it as simple as possible. Might do an autopilot in the future, not sure yet.

@SuperScguy Distance is limited mainly by interference around here, which is substantial... I just moved to a more rural area though, so I'll be able to test this setup in a better environment. Currently the range is about half a mile before I start getting significant issues with the video feed; I'm expecting closer to a full mile with no interference. For this flight I was watching the plane, but I now fly from a monitor and will be getting video goggles soon.
