Subaru has released on-board driving footage during a hot lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack in Germany using a 2011MY Subaru WRX STI 4-door (sedan) test vehicle. Behind the wheel is Finnish rally champ Tommi Mäkinen.

Tommi, in an STI, on The Ring!!! What a dream video. Notice how he's always either on the gas, or the brakes, never coasting, that's how a pro drives.

@ANNChristopherM Ahh...thanks for the info. That is a VERY impressive lap, even with the mis-shift and the over-revving.

@Chunkaway I think it's supposed to be a relatively stock "test vehicle." Accidentally over-revving the engine to 9k won't destroy it, I've done it on my '04 USDM STi.

So this isn't a stock STi is it? 9K rpms would be tough, I think, in a stock STi.
