The runner who died after the running of the bulls today in Pamplona suffered a horn wound to his neck above the left clavicle, severing his aorta and puncturing his lung.
Daniel Jimeno Romero was pronounced dead at 8:45 this morning in Pamplona's Hospital de Navarra. Romero was 27 years old, from Alcala de Henares (just outside Madrid). He had run at the festival of San Fermin in previous years, as had his father, who is from Pamplona.
Romero is the 15th person to die from a bull goring in Pamplona in recorded history of the annual event. Romero was one of four youths wounded by a bull at today's run, which featured six bulls from the ranch of Jandilla (Badajoz). Six other youths were transported to the hospital this morning for treatment of various injuries incurred during the crowded run.
A reddish-brown bull named "Cappuccino" began the run relatively fast and hit at least two people at the beginning uphill section of the course (Cuesta de Santo Domingo). At the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (town hall) the bull hit three more runners. From this point the troublesome bull became separated from the herd. He became disoriented and turned around near the end of the run, which took 4 minutes and 30 seconds to finish at the Plaza de Toros (a very long run, considering the last two runs have lasted just about 2 and a half minutes).
The "pastores" attempted to get the disoriented bull to run in the right direction for nearly two minutes. Pastores wear dark green and carry long sticks to guide the bulls and keep runners from distracting the animals.
The last person to die as a result of a bull goring in Pamplona was a young man from Chicago, Matthew Peter Tassio. He died in 1995.
This is the fouth of eight bull runs; there are four more runs ("encierros") to come over the next four days of the festival of San Fermin.

@MsIkbenleuk U f**king a**hole, Im spanish and just I let u know the majority of spanish people disagree the bullfighting. Anyway the bull running is impressive if they wouldn´t kill them later during the afternoon into the arena, because they dont hurt them in any way. What a shame btw.

I ran Estafeta St on this morning, starting near the Telefonica corner. Cappuccino was behind the pack, but they all went by me smoothly. When I got to the end of the street, it was blocked as they were just getting him into the tunnel. I saw a guy put in an ambulance that had been gored in the leg, but had no idea there had been a death until I saw the replay at a bar a few minutes later. Don't approve of the killing in the arena, but the run is great, although crowded.

The guy with green patches was a hero? How about MORON? The only Tragedy that occurred that day, was that the bulls did not get anymore of those idiots than they did. Anyone that willingly runs with bulls, DESERVES whatever happens to them. Go Toro !!!!!!!!
