Here is my Polymoog 203a taken out of it's case for the first time in years! I bought it as in need of work, but it doesn't seem that bad. A few voices don't work, sometimes craps out and some waveshapes need sorting etc etc but, worth doing though as I LOVE polymoogs. Better than people think.

Crap phone quality video. Sorry!

  • So 70s... So one of a kind! And your nice demo inspired me to actually go find one and have it restored. Thanks!

  • @Sjobeck7 Cool! I sold mine but need another too. A friend has one I can have he said :-)

    Wonderful synths.

  • i have factory prototype (cobbled) w/original test harness as oem (not!)

if you know how to set variables nothing can touch it cause of split keyboard

and yes they are super unreliable w/un-ubtaniam parts

    tnx

it appears it was out of phase (led tuner flashing)

  • @bunthum interesting! I actually sold this but a friend says I can have his..but it's in Sweden..

I think the whole synth was out of phase :lol

Seriously, it's a shame they are unreliable as I honestly think they can sound incredible...

  • Haha! When are they NOT broken?? I bought a Polymoog when they first released it. I had my parents co-sign for a huge loan to pay for it. As far as I know, I was the very first to have it in my city. I think the polymoog was the worst piece of crap that was ever made! It broke so many times and I had to drive it to the Moog factory in Buffalo to get it fixed. Then it broke again! For all of it's weight and flash it sounded like poop! Just my opinion from personal experience.

  • @VladtheEmailer not very reliable but I love the sounds they can make.

Exactly the same story happened to me in Germany. I bought a Mini Moog in 1977 and was really happy with it. When the Polymoog came out I ordered it without having checked it out...the presets were awful , the only really convincing sound where the strings, It was broken all the time. The same year the fantastic Yamaha CS 80 came out, for almost the same price... if I had known!

  • always loved these...like liking the contacts of a 9V battery with your ears.
