Exactly the same story happened to me in Germany. I bought a Mini Moog in 1977 and was really happy with it. When the Polymoog came out I ordered it without having checked it out...the presets were awful , the only really convincing sound where the strings, It was broken all the time. The same year the fantastic Yamaha CS 80 came out, for almost the same price... if I had known!

always loved these...like liking the contacts of a 9V battery with your ears.

i have factory prototype (cobbled) w/original test harness as oem (not!)
if you know how to set variables nothing can touch it cause of split keyboard
and yes they are super unreliable w/un-ubtaniam parts
tnx 4 post

Haha! When are they NOT broken?? I bought a Polymoog when they first released it. I had my parents co-sign for a huge loan to pay for it. As far as I know, I was the very first to have it in my city. I think the polymoog was the worst piece of crap that was ever made! It broke so many times and I had to drive it to the Moog factory in Buffalo to get it fixed. Then it broke again! For all of it's weight and flash it sounded like poop! Just my opinion from personal experience.
