Roberto Badoglio perfoming with his band Re-Evaluation Time in may 2011.
After Studying in France with Dominique Di Piazza and in NY with Matthew Garrison in his teen years, Roberto attended the Berklee College of music in Boston where he had the chance to play with and to learn from many "top world musicians" who have been of great inspiration and influence to him, such as Joanne Brackeen, Matthew Garrison, Adama, Marcus Miller, Dominique Di Piazza, Marko Djordjevic, Marlon Browden, Paul Giordimaina, Hal Crook, Steve Hunt, Marty Richards, Louis Cato, Aly Keyta, Helmut Engel Musehold, George Zonce and many others.
Roberto's first album "Re-Evaluation Time", released in January 2010, received raving reviews from several specialised writers and critics in the United States and has been a revelation for many listeners and bass players who greatly appreciated Roberto's wild, unrestrained (even outrageous for several others) sense for expression and highly avanced technical developments.
Thanks to his one-of-a-kind combination of grooving, striking harmonic sense, and vistuosistic melodic attitude Roberto is now making a name for himself in instrumental contemporary music.
He currently lives in Berlin and endorses of Wood&Tronics bass guitars.
Hera are some lines about Roberto which appeared in 2010 on some of the most important printed and Web sources:
(...) he's a formidable player who communicates warmth, sensitivity and an enviable technique. His supersonic bass riffs are a wonder to behold and in a loose sense his music merges classic fusion with a modern uplift, a sure bet to make throughout!
Glen Astarita, ALL ABOUT JAZZ
(...) this record answers the question that wonders how jazz-fusion would sound if it was invented today. This young 'un and his bass take the world and electric elements and give them a weekend feel that makes this a new part of the legacy in the making. Simply tasty and accessible, it has something for your many moods and will add something good to all of them!
Chris Spector, MIDWEST RECORD MAGAZINE
(...) such easy-listening progressive breeze you don't even know your brain is undergoing surgery. Even through several modal and world music ideas, the music flows like you wont believe!

  • As a fellow bassist, it's very inspiring to hear it being played so tastefully as a lead instrument. I love the Rhodes-esque piano too. Nice stuff!
