my thinking of it is after the fall of umbrella those still in charge flead the country and started a new company named tricell. seeing how none of the big wigs where named in the investigation. and only the mid guys took the fall.either that or tri cell was that "other" company wesker was talking about when he was taking samples of the viruses and other research work from umbrella saying "you think i work for umbrella? i have my own plans"

@Cybrisk Wesker has been thought dead after each game he has been in but he survived because he used the T virus on himself but he mixed it in a way that he didn't fully mutate right away but slowly over time the virus got to him and he mutated (end of RE 5) and even then i would not be so sure he is dead after that either. *this explanes his matrix like fighting, his red eyes, and his quick ability to heal*

In the Movie Wesker is the president of umbrela, much better than the game, I think the Capcom must do a game that link the games with the movie, u know, wesker dont died, and he rebuid umbrela, =p

well, technically he died once, but he was also thought to be dead along with Jill after he fell from Spencer's estate. Sooooo Ima just say twice lol

I'm sorta glad they're keeping him dead this time, continually bringing him back would just make him loose his awesomeness and turn him into just a character surviving by fanservice...moreso than he already was.

Well, RE2 and RE3 didn't need Wesker, but never-the-less it will be harder for the next games to be as good of RE games nowadays.

yep, he died on re1 and tahnks to the virus he came back, but unfortunally the creators of resident evil 5 said taht wesker is DEAD, he dint survive or anything on taht volcano :S, so well let see who will be the next "nemesis" from this series

Wesker only died once before RE5's ending, he only ever came back ONCE, and that was due to his virus being activated at that time. Nothing implies he'd survive the end of 5.
