Lily was one of the most talented and powerful coloraturas of all time. Her long career with the Met and lots of other performance endeared her to all of us. Rest in peace, angel.

One of her many trademarks. She was, from a very young age, truly a living legend. She knew how to live like a star, ultra-glamorous, exotic but never aloof or cold. She was warm, witty and could be both funny and saucy. She had the voice, she had the face, she had the body as a child Beverly SIlls pointed out to her mother, she had the belly button!

than force sopranos to bellow with hooty "generic" tones which is totally against nature.

She sounds like this song was written just for her. I have heard it sang by others, but decidedly not like this. What a voice!
