the museum of british columbia had a circus exhibit years ago in victoria and part of the exhibit was showing old turn of the century flea circus props with early 20th century film footage of the flea circus.. i remember they were a larger breed of fleas, not so much bigger than these though.. they are strong like ants.. the larger ones were preferred back in the day so people could better see them. very odd and amusing.
