@mickGPN I've been thinking of moving to Sweden or Switzerland since I hear so many good things about them. I wouldn't know about Nevada. Now, off to check your vids.
i could be (and was) a preschool teacher, computer networking engineer and retail worker. Jobs are difficult to come by where I live. I did manage to get out and find one though....finally.
@0MrRib0 If you don't know what it's like to be a prostitute on the street, then don't make such strong descriptions of it. And as far as you're assuming anything about these girls, look at 1:53. They know it's not all peaches and roses.
@0MrRib0 "Which really isn't the type of prostitute that springs to mind when the word is mentioned." No, it's not, but therein lies an important point. People have an idea as to what they think all or most prostitute's situations are like. To truly understand the sex industry, and to address sex worker's issues, we have to acknowledge that there are different demographics within the sex industry, with different needs, concerns, and issues.
@0MrRib0 The video is not directed at you specifically, of course. It's largely directed at those who want to prostitution criminalized. It is biased in the sense that it is clearly in favor of legal or decriminalized prostitution. But I don't think that means anyone is denying that some people are in fucked up situations in the industry. It seems that one can't say anything positive about the sex industry without being expected to give a disclaimer that there are negative aspects as well.
@PenelopeBaden8:45 "WE HAVE A RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHAT HAPPENS TO OUR BODIES, AND WE WILL NOT ACCEPT YOU FORCING YOUR SCEWED MORALS ONTO US" I'm not doing anything of the sort, you want to be a hooker girl BE MY GUEST- I don't give a fuck, it's still fucked up for other people who are in that business who are there without choice; it's not liberation for them, tell that shit to the girl who's getting sodomised for a few grams, lets see if she thinks it's feminist and liberating and awesome.
@PenelopeBaden Well i'm happy for you in your new job, that's awesome if you're truly happy. However i do have to reinstate my point that you're an escort now? Which really isn't the type of prostitute that springs to mind when the word is mentioned (for me at least) i'm referring to those who have little or no choice in the matter, you yourself are not suffering from poverty or addiction, you've just went into something because it suits you better, you're not on the street getting flagged.
@0MrRib0 I'm not seeing what's so "biased" about this video. It's not saying that the sex industry is all a bed of roses. It's not saying that abuse doesn't happen in the industry. It's not saying that you shouldn't help people in the industry who need help. It's just saying that people shouldn't make sweeping generalizations about the sex industry and it's workers.
Legalize prostitution, it is up to women to decide what they do with their bodies, not some invisble entity or men lawmakers.
