Dmitry Medvedev, the man assured to be elected as Russia's next president on Sunday, has made the battle against corruption a top priority. One of the worst regions affected is Russia's Far East. Al Jazeera's Jonah Hull has been traveling across Russia to find out what problems the new president will face. He reports from the Far Eastern city of Vladivostok. It is a city mired in poverty despite being rich in mineral resources.

  • I've learned that Russians need to be told what to do. Not an insult, but a cultural truth. The people have allways had an iron fist to give orders. Fact is Putin decided to be that fist when Gorbie gave a shatered empire with the desire for freedom to a week fool. Putin and his KGB neo-facists have been bourgeouise ever since thatnks to their crimes against the Russian people. Hey Russians I'll tell you what to do! Try 1990/91 again and let the world respect you.
