In this Rutgers University program, hear the late Dr. Mary Starke Harper, last surviving health care worker from the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, in her own words as she recounts her experiences as one of the nation's top health care advocates. After her unwitting involvement in the "Tuskegee Experiment," a government study in Alabama that falsely promised treatment to black men with syphilis, the former nurse rose to become a leading expert on health care for minorities, the elderly and the mentally ill. Dr. Harper served as adviser to four U.S. presidents and greatly advanced health care legislation, training and funding.

  • to be honest, noone can be that dumb to see all the things and symptoms those men had for 40 years and still say they thought they were being treated, no doubt the government was dead wrong but you yourselves brag about how intelligent she was, so which is it, is she a gullible easily convinced name tag, or is she a smart educated woman who knew very well what was really going on. and at that, ill let you choose. Every opinion really does matter.

  • The Tuskegee Experiment was only one of the first of the human experimentation programs initiated by the U.S. on its own citizens and it's only the tip of the iceburg when it comes to immoral human experimentation. Today we have the vaccines the establishment is trying to force on us all. And always , there are those who are touted as "wonderful human beings" helping their fellow man carry out the work of the ruling elite in their bid to take over the world, by killing 2/3 of us; black or white

  • @kitanaorenishii I liked one advice: Rather be kind then right.

And from living in communist country: 'If you don't know what to do: be decent'

    All the best to you.

Thank you for raising that question.

  • great story ty

  • @TALLMATE73 Because nothing must stop propaganda from being seen.

  • Only a simple mind would call this excellent human being a house nigga.

  • Only in the case of other black people keeping her down NIgga! What kind of black person calls another black person a nigga anyway? She stood ahead of her peers because she wanted to study. In that context, I rather be a house higga than a crack selling field nigga anyday! Keep it real Blood! She had to fight to be educated, people like you make me sick. We still have more blacks in mental health units now even though we are the minority. Wot U doing? Be militant about education NIGGA!
