This is micro hydor electirc system.


◆ Specification
- Height : 48[m]
- Flow : 2 - 6 [litters/s]
- Generator : . 1.5[kW-max] . 8P PMG, 220[V]

- Turbine : Banki turbine . Blades: 24 [Each] . Ratio : 2:1

- Penstock : . Dia. : D 150[mm] . Length : L 320[m], H : 48[m]


There is non-grid area in the south korea. and we are supposed to make home's non-grid micro-hydro electric system.

Now, we are limiting the water because of generator capacity...

So, first all, we must be make the turbine, and we plan to drow to banki drawing, and cutting, welding,,, at last, making the banki turbine....and then, we buy the old ups for non-grid electric system, reference,,,, in korea,,, very be able to purchase the old ups,,,, and batteries...

1. Turbine: bankt turbine
- Water flows :2 - 6[Litter/Second]
- Turbine Dia. 300[mm]
- Penstock Dia. 150[mm]
- Penstock Length: 320[m]
- Penstock Height: 48[m]
- speed : about 450[rmp]

2.Generating system
- Out put: about 1.5[kW]
- Speed: about 900[rpm]
- PMG Generator :8P PMG, 220[V]
- Voltage: 220[V], 3Phase, Pole:8p

3. Control Systm
- UPS for Non-grid electric system.

4. Battery Back up system
- 12[ V ]DC, 16[each]
- Total voltage: 192[ V ]DC.
- Battery cap. 125[AH]

5.Loads: Refrigator, Refrigator for KIMCH, Lighting, Computer, Audio-video system, Washing meachine, Tv, and vacuum cleaner, Hair driyer, Iron,,, etc... We are using the all the Electric loads.....

6. Monthly electric generating qualtities: about 720[kWh/Month]

  • No...Alternators are AC. The current is transformed into DC! An alternator gets its name from the term alternating current (AC). :)

  • This is an awesome idea but I would get rid of that power thieving V-belt and use a bicycle chain or gears. A chain wont slip if it gets wet either.

  • @hablerz you u know how much 1.5 kw is? its not a toothbrush, its more like the cutting spindle of my cnc milling machine...

  • @dstroni I was under the impression it supplied alternating current and converted it to dc using a diode. Isn't that why cars use dc even though alternators supply AC?
