1) They both have black hair

2) They both act in their movies as the main chars

3) They both have weird freak-out moments in their movies

4) They both have a lot of disjointed plot points

5) They both have characters that pop up once and then go missing

6) They both have movies with really awkward and poorly handled sexual content

A film about irritating, neurotic people. A film that is ever so sure to make every scene ever so quirky and unexpected. It was like watching a car wreck, I hated it entirely but couldn't quite look away--maybe I was hoping for something redeeming. Now that it's over, I wish I could expunge it from my brain.

Nowadays simply liking something that might be called "quirky" (an insult?) gets scathing comments

I think all these "I'm so average and normal and don't even like anything unique like a stupid hipster!!" people are just the new meta-hipsters. Too hip for the percieved hipsterdom.
