@rampagetv yeah i've heard of it too, but i tried to recorded a short clip with isight and then uploaded it to youtube, it's not HD, but it does have an option to save your video as HD, i haven't tried to upload that to youtube yet.thanks for ur answer.

i went to quicktime, but under ""quick time player" , i don't have all those options you have there, such as "preferences", do i have to change the setting or? thanks so much:)

Is there a way of doing this for all apps instead of only QuickTime, so you can FaceTime in HD with an iSight on a 2010 (or earlier) MacBook (Pro)?

@hiitsjordyy For as far as I know FaceTime doesn't support HD. Also this is purely software related. The camera can record in HD, but the "capturing" software still has to process and compress it to HD resolution.

i think it's the version, i'm using the new snow leopard..and they have a newer version of quicktime, is there anyway i can install the older version quicktime?

@PandorasPalette Snow Leopard actually has HD built-in. Check out some youtube video's on it!
