  • Can I ask what your rear gear ratio is? I have a 70 GTO with 3.90 and the car is really screaming when doing a little over 60mph. I'm going to drop it to 3.23. Do you think that will be enough to make the car more drivable on the highway?

  • My car has 3.91 in it. A switch to 3.23 will make a huge difference on the highway.

  • @screaminsixpack This Challenger has 3.91? It really doesn't seem to be revving that high on the highway. My GTO is turning around 4000 at 80 and I've only taken her up to 90 cause it can't take much more. It's a beast out of the hole though. I don't want to sacrifice too much of that going with the 3.23. Thanks for the input.

  • Your transmission must be geared high as I'm turning 3500 rpm at 60! Alot of guys are using 3.55's as they are good on the highway and not bad around town, I had 3.55's before I got a trailer, even tried some 4.56's around town, What a blast that was, but could NOT go on the highway!

  • Is there an issue not being able to pass the Neon/Stratus?

Is that a big block Stratus?

  • Didn't want to scare grandma, lol!

  • i dont know why he doesnt REALLY open it up, alberta's road enforecment is a joke compared to some places

  • @mikeshemi72 i was going to say...

  • that looks like red deer

  • When you think about it, the new cars today are built better, more efficient, and more powerful in most cases. That said, I think it proves a point that the old musclecars are so much better based on the fact they are worth so much more than todays cars. I'll take a Hemi or 440 Challenger any day over one of todays challenger SRT8's. Hands down. No contest!

  • my cuda has 3.91's always wants to pull on the highway

  • must be nice cruisin along in that pristene muscle car

  • looks like your drivin in canada. EH!

  • I understand it would be a colossal job but I think I may, if I ever decide to have a challenger, re-body a new one. It won't have any originality once so ever except for the exterior but I want one that would actually work. I've been hearing for years how these things were reviewed and the results weren't pretty. I want one that I could use everyday and use comfortably. So 70 challenger styling w/t the 70 drawbacks.

  • Man, i wish i had one, all i have is a crappy (engine wise) '84 GMC Jimmy S-15

  • @screaminsixpack my fully balanced and bluprinted 489 bb chevy has a 6000 chip in the msd 6al box with my 4.10 gears i top out at 110 mph well thats what i ran at Mission Dragsrtip 12.01 @ 110 mph i was hitting the revlimiter about a 199 yards before the end ob 1/4

i had a 69 chevelle tht came factory with a 300 horse 350 with a 12 bolt it had 2.56 gears.... i dropped in a true 350 LT-1 but had 12.5-1 still had the .30 .30 zapper cam... i could do 80 mph in first gear ...120 in second and th
