i was born with this desease... i dont have a bellybutton... i am 11 years old and going into 6th grade. people think im an alien... i just tell them, google it its true and im not an alien, millions of people suffer from this desease. being born with this desease put me at risk for a tick disorder, and i jut happend to get it, i have had no problems with my tummy ever sence... not alot of people think that we were in pain for half of a year in the hospital fighting this desease... god bless

i too have a scar from gastroschesis. it makes me who i am now. i wouldnt change it for nothing. :)

my Daughter was born with this Jan 14th 2010 didnt get to hold her till she was 3 weeks old she had surgery at a week old and she got to come home at 2 1/2 months old it runs in her fathers side of the family, now she is very healthy and smart lil 2 year old =)

I just found out that my grandbaby has gastroschesis my daughter is 5 months pregnant...we are all worry and concern but been reading alot about it,....trying to educate myself and my daughter with this,...please any advice would help my daughter and her boyfriend are very young 20 and 21 yrs old...they are sooo concern and lost please help!

@DeniseJoanReimer would like to know if you have had any more complications and if you think it is related, im 31 and had tis and i seem to have a few problems nd more then not always on my right side

i am 31 and i had gastroschesis. i was born a mouth early almost and they said if i was any later i would of died, the hospital made a bellybutton for me but i had to have another operation at 13 because i was getting cysts around there (from how it was fixed), i also seem to have problems more on my right side of the body then the left, not sure if related though

I was born with this disease.

My stomach, liver, intestines and kidney's were outside of my body, similar to anthony's condition. I've had to go through many surgeries over the last 15 years. I was born two months premature, at only 4lbs. I had to live in the NICU for three months, and my own parents didn't get to hold me until I was a month and a half old. At birth, my parents were told Id only live a year, because of the poor condition I was in.

But hey, im here today.

@mommy2at im 14 years old.my shirt went up in class&everyone stopped talking to me. before they saw my stomach i was the girl everyone loved ,in cheer, involved wth school.they saw my stomach i became the kid no one cared about and it hurt really bad. ive been dating this guy for about 1 year&2 months and last week he saw my scar and i broke down and cried my eyes out and he told me im perfect so that really made me feel alot better. I would love to talk to other kids with gastroschisis too(:

hello! My son was born with gastroschisis and after allot of complications and several surgerys and 6 months in ths NICU we brought him

home but do to the gastroschisis and malabsorbtion his GI doctor decided that he neded a central line for TPN and do to the fact that this is a foreign object in such a little body we have spent many and many more months in the hospital do to the infections but im happy to say that we have our son with us I hope this message helps out parents in the NICU
