On the Footplate of SDJR No 88 on the GCR.9th October 2011

The Great Central Railway S & D Steam Extravaganza was held from 6th to 9 October 2011. I visited on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th when I was given the opportunity of a footplate ride on S & D 2-8-0 No 88 from Loughborough to Leicester North and return.
This is the video of that trip. I apologise for the quality of some of the footage but I was too busy enjoying the ride and chatting to the very friendly and accomodating footplate crew at the time.
My thanks to the GCR and Staff for a fantastic weekend all round and especially to the crew of 88.

great film, I even spotted myself as the train pulled into Quorn on the return trip, the one wearing the cap who the driver say's alright you too, and I got on the footplate once the train arrived at Loughbrough, a good crew and I hope to see them again
