Paraglider Reserve Parachute Deployment NY 2007. Frederick a Canadian paraglider pilot after having his Paragliderglider deflate while flying at about 1,500 feet above Hammondsport New York throws his reserve parachute and lands in the only tree in a large field behind launch. It was interesting watching from my Hang Glider above Frederick and seeing the wind drift him directly back and then at about 200 feet his direction changed and he drifted to the Northeast which was a change of about 90 degrees. Fortunately Frederick was not injured and now know what it feels like to deploy a reserve parachute.
