If you use a capture cam, the wear and tear you are putting on the VX is only half meaning that it'll last longer.

Yes. Since it's using MiniDV tapes, of course it's digital.

Great video - really helped a lot, but my mac book doesn't have a firewire import, so I'm lost as to how to upload footage. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?
