Here I explore some of the wonders of where the carbon in the CO2 in our exhaled breaths goes. In the video, I enter and leave several times as a visual presence, and also do a voice over along with graphics I developed showing carbon flows and amounts. There are, I hope, enough calculations to convince you of the results. Or you can crank the numbers yourself. Two of my colleagues in the science of the global carbon cycle both expressed amazement. These videos are made to bring the carbon cycle to everyone and to accompany my book, CO2 Rising: The Worlds Greatest Environmental Challenge. For viewing options, consider the series as a network, like the global carbon cycle itself. (The number in the title of each video is not for intended viewing sequence but only indicates the order in which I made them.)

  • lol @ 2:38

  • Excellent video, just like your other book "Gaia - towards a physiology of Earth". It is one of my favourite books. Keep up the good work, Volk!

  • I loved the video, but Isn't the assumption he makes at 5:20 unreasonable?

Shouldn't he subtract the percentage of CO2 that will get absorbed by the ocean, etc.?

  • awesome
