Haven't heard this song since I was about 11 years old, attending Mass with my mother. And I still remember it two decades later!

The Magnificat for me is as close as anything primal can get. I recall singing along with this hymn during mass either in english or tagalog under different arrangements through the years. But I hardly recall the verses nor the melody, nor have I heard it sung during a mass for the past sooo many years. Yet, tears were welling up my eyes as I listen to you sang. Thank you for letting me dip into the vast ocean of my catholic upbringing, truly a fortress of peace in times of trouble.

The version I know is written in the third person (i.e. 'His' instead of 'Your').

This is one of my favorite hymns. Wish we sang it here in Florida. Thanks so much for posting it on you tube!

Absolutely beautiful! This is one of my all-time favorite songs, and you sing it so well.
Very beautiful praise and worship music! Especially during the hour of Euchariastic Adoration. Blessing to you all for posting this and blessings to all who listen to it!

You're welcome....the microphone made a little too much echo-ing sound, it actually sounds better if you hear it in the next room- a distance from your speaks! LOL!
glad you enjoyed it...& God Bless U!

It sounds nice. You are right about all the ipod/cell phone stuff. We were singing a beautiful Palestrnia Kyrie on Holy Thursday evening....and someone left their cell phone on....
You have a lovely voice for solo liturgical work....so rich sounding.
My Episcopal Parish leans more in the catholic tradition, so something like that in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament would work nicely.

I'm glad you agree Socwoods. God speaks in the silence of our hearts, and if we aren't silent, how can we hear him?!
Glad you enjoyed the video....our Chant Choir also sung a Palestrina piece....they don't work well with cell phones...no, no!
God Bless and keep singing for the Lord!
