Polls show that between one-third and one-half of Americans still believe that there is "no solid" evidence of global warming, or that if warming is happening it can be attributed to natural variability. Others believe that scientists are still debating the point. Join scientist and renowned historian Naomi Oreskes as she describes her investigation into the reasons for such widespread mistrust and misunderstanding of scientific consensus and probes the history of organized campaigns designed to create public doubt and confusion about science. Series: "Perspectives on Ocean Science" [12/2007] [Science] [Show ID: 13459]

Mankind and its governments must begin immediate action to halt and reverse it.
If we do nothing the planet may reach a "tipping point" and begin a slide toward destruction of our civilization and most of the other species on this planet.
After that point is reached, it would be too late for any action.
Although 1998 remains the hottest year on record due to a strong El Nino influence, the ten warmest years on record all occured within the 12-year period 1997-2008.
The last few years have seen moderate La Nina conditions which had a cooling effect on global temperatures.
However, they were still warmer than the 1990's and the last few months of 2009 have swung back to warmer El Nino conditions.
..........long-term variations in temperature are called 'anomalies' with respect to operational means extracted from small sets; the "heat increase predicated on global warming", becomes the "observed heat gain". And so on.
One should note that the language of these *climate modellers* is the technocratic language of the neutered and the inverted: simulations that extrapolate a model become a "control run" (!); filling in missing data becomes "smoothing" (one of the 'great evils' of modern science); statistical procedures are employed as if they were equivalent to empirical investigation and methodologies, and are referred to by such euphemisms as "optimal detection methodology".........
The fact that long-term historical change in global temperature have been caused by orbital cycles,, subduction leading to changes in ocean and atmospheric chemistry...
...changes in the geometry of the continents and volcanic activity is completely irrelevant.
All those factors have mattered, and now we can add one more, the contribution by human activity

Climate changes just as river beds change. In my life time we have had cool periods and perhaps warmer periods. It's of little consequence, the important thing to understand is that man is not the contributing factor. Make no mistake about it. The same people who have kept the world dependent on fossil fuels have buried the alternatives. These same people would now have us believe that the citizens of the world are responsible. Its universal manipulation for control and to devalue human life.
That vid tries to debunk Bob Carter's lectures, which are primarily about the false claims of the IPCC's CO2 being the bad guy. Bob knows there are other natural factors, but his lecture is based on the false IPCC CO2 argument, which eventually, this vid debunks itself and shows CO2 is not the main driver, which bob says all along.
It would have made some good arguments against the IPCC's CO2 claims, but really just slings mud for the sake of it.

ROFL OMFG what fucking losers!
It is caused by human activity.

The ppm levels for carbon dioxide are rising and research shows that rising CO2 and rising global average temperatures are correlated.
