  • uhhh... this might be the dumbest question ever asked about a harmonica but here goes nothing, a "lick" is the equivilant of a "riff" yes?

  • yeah totally, Just the same, Not a dumb question...

  • Possibly your best video. Easily 5 stars.

  • Thanks 2 hole!

  • I'll tell you how I break my rut, 4:20.

I know. Thats a crutch too. Wish I didnt feel the need though.

  • I use to have that rut/crutch too Harpo! I would be looking for that shit like it was Heroin before a gig. After a while without it, everything gets back to normal then you don't have to feel dependent on it or anything else.

  • Always a great lesson,..i must de-rut my playing asap.

  • Hi Jason

you used to play a Marine Band with Special 20 Coverplates I know.

    And you´re a great overblower!

Did you use a other special harmonica with a slide for overblows in this clip? Or do you just playing around with your finger ? 07:00

You´re doing a damn good job here!

    regards

  • question how do you and when do you use the hand techniques properly and effectively..

  • Excellent video, thanks! I would say a lick is a short phrase within a solo, or an adornment, whereas a riff is usually the base of a tune repeated, like the dreaded intro to Smoke On The Water for instance:)

  • Fantastic Lesson! Just what I need to become the next Jason Ricci!! lol!!!

  • waw thanks a lot Jason!!

It's horrible when you get stuck in the same riff while jamming! Very helpful!
