  • this is an awful program. i dont feel like it gathers insight into the what makes debord such a vibrant theorist. instead it only looks at its cultural (recuperated) impact. i honestly think that if one is to truly get at the root of debord it is important to consider him as an orthodox marxist theorist analyzing a new stage of capitalist accumulation and theorizing a new form of praxis in order to counter it. the art stuff matters little.

  • the serious thing about the situationists seems to be that they really "did" what they were talking about in theory. just try to imagine to live on the streets for only three days, you gonna have some experince. they didn`t divorce theory and practice whatever the results might be. some of them ended up in prison or psychiatry, i think one of them got lost exploring the metro etc.

  • @cauchamar Vaneigem eventually saw them for what they were and as far as I can see after he left the situationalists and was attacked verbally and in written word by them for doing so his writings on a free and self regulating social order are more akin yo anarchy. He saw the light and acted on it.

  • @OrpheusIsThe1

Van eigem is quite good. I don't know enough about the others to say .

  • @cramokramer What utter crap really "did" what they were talking about in theory. just try to imagine to live on the streets for only three days, you gonna have some experience. If they really did put theory into practice they would have been on the streets for LIFE not a paltry 3 days. That's just taking the piss out of people who do that way all their lives those people would laugh at the situationists. Got lost exploring the metro what a tool. Learn to read a map

ANARCHY IS LIFE LIFE IS ART

  • What a bunch of pretentious wankers the situationists were/are. All life is a continuous ever changing original ecstatic experience if you let it be. You don't need a bunch of middle class ponces to tell you this.

ANARCHY IS LIFE AND LIFE IS ART

  • @plutoohno Oh the irony.
