Several thousand monsters have celebrated Halloween at Frankenstein castle in southern Germany. Monsters of all ages attended the annual event at Frankenstein castle outside Darmstadt, near Heidelberg, and watched professional actors perform a spooky show.
"I like the atmosphere but I'm a little disappointed that not everyone is dressed up," Frederic Gluecks said, decorated with face paint and dressed in a Halloween costume. "But all the people here and the show make it very interesting and even a little spooky," Gluecks said. It is here, at Frankenstein castle, that theologian, physician and alchemist Johann Conrad Dippel von Frankenstein was born in 1673.
