The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is one of the biggest and most spectacular aquariums in the world. This videos focuses on some of the most strange-looking sea creatures that can be found there.

Some of the species shown in the video are: damselfish, yellowtail clownfish (amphiprion clarkii), moon jelly (aurelia aurita), spotfin burrfish (chilomycterus reticulatus), spotted eagle ray (aetobatus narinari), whale shark (rhincodon typus), ocean sunfish (mola mola), alfred manta ray (manta alfredi), bowmouth guitarfish (rhina ancylostoma -- a.k.a. guitar shark), zebra shark (stegostoma fasciatum), hammerhead shark, white-sided dolphin (lagenorhynchus obliquidens), giant spider crab (macrocheira kaempferi), beluga whale (delphinapterus leucas), Atlantic sea nettle (chrysaora quinquecirrha), Pacific sea nettle (chrysaora fuscescens).

Music by Ludovico Einaudi -- "Divenire" (2007 from "Divenire" album -- Sony)

Special thanks to my friend Ilias ( http://www.youtube.com/iliosporos77 ) for shooting most of the videos with his HD camera.

  • @DeepAddiction47 at least they aren't being eaten by us or each other like in the ocean. i know it's the way of life, but they're being saved in way. i'm sure they all live many years longer than they would in open water. stop worrying about things you have no control over. or go do something about it... whoblah...!

  • It's not enough the japanese kill everything in the ocean, in the name of science!, but what they leave alive they put in prison. Those animals should be in the ocean not contained in a glass prison for human amusement. And yes, I feel this way about any aquarium japanese or otherwise.

  • @ifiwasa123 cages? they are called tanks

  • wow that was beautiful!

  • Good job you shoot fish in cages. whale sharks have been travelling the world for 1000's of years but thank god we have them in pens so you can get some good hd footage and fat tourist don't have to actually go to the oceans they pollute to see the animals that are being killed over. Keep up the good work. I hear sea world is hiring
