Train Runs Though Bangkok Market (SRT Maeklong line)

This is a Movie of the final approach and the passing of the train though the Maeklong railway market. This film shows why this railway is so special for rail fans and tourists. It's the way this market opens and closes around the moving train. This occurs 8 times a day every day of the week. Maeklong station is the end of the market and the line.

This Service is now Free from 1st August 2008 to 31st Jan 2009 and is operating to the normal timetable though out this period.

NO it is not closing down during that time. It just has free fares for thai locals during that time. The normal 4 trips each way each day are still running. In Feb 2009 the time table will change unfortunately to 3 trips each way each day.

They are just being practical and trying to make a living.

Also very hot in the sun so awning shade helps a lot.

Hope the train does not have a toilet which empties out onto the track.

Or do they make announcement NOT to use the toilet?

It's not Bangkok, ok! Mae Klong Market is located in Samutsongkram Province. 2.5 hrs drive from Bangkok, ok dude!
