I have the PS3 version, and I am not disapointment with it, graphiclly it could be a bit more sharp, but then graphics don't really make the gameplay, they are great though. The battle system is evolved to be faster than the TTEOT (SO3) with added effects and just as fun. Hope they do more. The battle tune varies depending on were you are which is a nice change. The ps3 extras with menu style/audio is a nice bonus. Hope Resonace of Fate has the Tri-Aces icons, Gabriel/Etheral queen.

@XIIIUser actually, the first game in the series was released for super famicon in japan and it was fan translated years later for emulators, sorry to brag in :/

imo this game is one of the deepest pieces of art ive seen as far as videogames go in the last few years .

2 questions! Is the game linear? And can I change weapons/clothes?
-
i really hate how far the camera is :/

my only complaint is the horrible voice-acting (in English, completely played through the game with Japanese voices) and a less predictable story, also some more planets to explore :D
9.0/10 in my book, though if you have never played a J-RPG guys, then you rent it, then buy it if your hooked :)

Would have been a perfect game if the voices didn't suck and the story was less predictable/stupid. The battle system was perfect but they screwed up the rest of the freakin game.

The only problem I have with this game are the fucking boss battles, they last FOREVER

dude get rid of the whiny voice then youll have urself a good reviewing show

@Damnedsoul53 Play some more. It's great once you get your 6th character (about 10 hours in.) It's okay thought after you get Faize and Lymle (3 hours in)

Just a quick side note. The original Star Ocean and first in the series was released on the SNES.
Game is now on PS3.. just bought it today and it's a million times improved, thanks to blu-ray and 360 beta version. Extra characters, 8 languages, japanese voice option, anime characters and menu optional, less jaggies , higher resolution. I am loving it!

@Nodieus27 Let's not go overboard, it's better but still has some problems. It's storyline for the most part is still only decent at best. The combat is still fun though shallow in the end.
The Japanese voices and extra characters are indeed an improvement but really graphics look worse in some ways. However replaying it with Japanese voices is nice.
