For decades they were banned from participating in politics, but now a member of the Muslim Brotherhood has taken the top job in Egypt's new parliament.
 
Saad al-Katatni was sworn in as Speaker on Monday during the first session of the lower house.
 
Al Jazeera's Mike Hanna reports from Cairo.

  • It is a shame , people who supported Mubarak's dictorship aré now finding hard to digest the will of majority...they just can't see any other country as stable and working for people.

    Eventhough brotherhood has good reputation of serving people of egypt.
