I read one article where it claimed John Blymire was after the book: "The Long Lost Friend", written by John George Hohman because another Pow wow doctor---probably in the interest of eliminating competition--told him to get the book and it would make Rehmeyer powerless, but the book was never found. Then another article that says you can buy it through Amazon.com.Keep in mind much of the info is wrapped up in superstition. It was 1929 after all.

I've always wanted to come see this place... I've lived in York County all my life and have heard so many stories about this man. People make him sound terrible... I see him as the complete opposite.

There is nothing weird or spooky about the hollow. Nelson Rehmeyer was not a witch or a black magician...he was a powwow doctor...a faith healer. He had no supernatural powers. The man who killed him, John Blymire, was a lunatic and imbecile who believed Rehmeyer was a witch who put a hex on him. Blymire was just crazy, pure and simple. Nelson is buried with his wife in a church cemetery. His great-grandson owns the house and believes it may be haunted. He does not allow people inside.

@LankyGarry can't go in the house but the rest of the hollow is worth checking out, i've been around the house a lot actually and never had anything weird happen, but in other areas i've experienced things i'll never be able to explain. i live about 5 min outside of the hollow, so i'm there frequently

I was at the big parking lot, with the big rocks and stream, sat there for about an hour, i glanced to my side, and thought oh, someones power must be out, as they were standing at a window with a candle lit, next thing i know the window faded away, we turned the car, high beamed the woods, and there was no house. to this day i cant explain it. also found some stone gateway that leads to nothing but woods, and was pushed so hard in the shoulder i felt it for an hour
In southern York county. They have been trying to make it a museum but not having much luck.

It's just a grave marked with the name Blymire, which was the name of the murderer. Not his actual grave though.
