A bizarre album deserves a bizarre review. Here, Mike Patton (the demented ringmaster) and Faith No More (the music box in the carnival bizarre) concoct an album about the ugly sides of life, fueled by late-night TV while sleep deprived, watching people in the wrong side of town, and more. In reality, what more could an alternative fan want?

  • Great review! I never knew Patton didn't wrote The Real Thing, maybe thats why I always thought it lacked oh so much in the style that made later FnM so great. Needless to say Angel Dust is a legendary album! But I got to give a shout out to Mr. Bungle. Mike Patton's original band, and I gotta tell ya, twice as crazy, and in my honest opinion, even quite a step above FnM. Definitely check those guys out too Coverkiller (or any FnM fan for that matter!)

  • @GrimFloyo43 yeah, he only wrote lyrics. no real input musically.

  • great review, but corny intro

  • Mike Patton is the Salvador Dali of music! Listen to Mr Bungle one of the many bands Mike was in seriously what an incredible and extremely diverse band.

  • It's funny that you mentioned the mario water stage/RV similarity, because i thought i was the only one that thought that until now.

  • fantastic review ... FNM has never made a bad album , just seems they keep getting more and more Epic!!!! (pun intended lol) Angel Dust is in my top 5 albums of all time and have to say that Album of the Year and King for a Day are not far behind !!! ... i also enjoy Real Thing but it just has such a different sound compared to the others

  • You wanna hear weird, Listen to Mr bungle Disco Volante. Patton is on that too and it will most likely blow your mind.

  • nice review !

  • I prefer Album Of The Year but Angel Dust was good.

  • A while back, I heard that these guys were getting back together. What ever happened with that?

  • I like the fact that Angel dust is one of your favorite albums. In fact it is mine. However, some of your interpretation sounds like taken right from a mash up of band-interviews or critics.

  • There are two kinds of people when it come to this Album, them that have never heard it and them that have never heard it enough, I'm the latter of the two
