ah you seem to have missed the point. this is ok. first of all no one mentioned the death of loved ones. That is something you brought up yourself. The joke is not the act of drinking and driving the joke is the post-ironic idea that 9 drinks is nothing. It's a little something called sarcasm. Don't concern yourself with it now but if you ever go to England or New York you might want to brush up.

This is a subject that should not be done sarcastically. And to me it is STILL DUMB AND NOT BRILLIANT.And for your information i have no intention of ever going to those places, especially if they think drinking is funny and laugh about it.
